Alexander Technique.

The Alexander Technique, developed by F. Matthias Alexander (1869-1955), is a movement education method that helps students to coordinate themselves with balance, support, ease & awareness in their activities. Those activities might be specialized ones, like singing or sewing or tightrope-walking…; but they might also be the activities of daily living. The Alexander Technique can help us to use ourselves safely and to act & respond the way we wish in that which we wish to do.

I am a member of Alexander Technique International and a graduate of Susan Sinclair’s teacher-training program in Toronto. Under Susan’s direction I learned, along with a wonderful group of fellow-trainees, to teach the Alexander Technique in a lineage very much inspired by the work of Marjory Barstow.

I offer Alexander Technique lessons & group classes in Guelph (in my home studio and at 10C Shared Space) and in Waterloo at the Laurier Academy of Music & Arts (LAMA).
